Born and raised in Maryland, USA, Shaykh Abd al-Samad grew up witnessing a lack of understanding about Islām within his community. This observation inspired him to take responsibility for learning and spreading the knowledge of Islām. From a young age, he began self-studying the foundational sciences of Islām, quickly becoming an influential figure within his local community. People often sought his guidance and counsel, and he responded by delivering lectures and undertaking initiatives to inspire others towards religious practice.

To deepen his understanding of Islām and meet the needs of diverse communities, Shaykh Abd al-Samad committed himself to formal study. He traveled to Houston, Texas, where he had the honor of learning from the grandson of Sayyidunā Ṣadr al-Sharīʿah and the Khalīfa of Sayyidunā Tāj al-Sharīʿah and Sayyidunā al-Muḥaddith al-Kabīr, Muftī Faizān al-Muṣṭafā al-Qādrī. Excelling in his studies, he utilised his natural abilities to serve the faith, teaching courses, delivering lectures, and authoring articles, all while still completing his formal education.

After completing his studies, Shaykh Abd al-Samad earned the titles of ʿĀlim, Fāḍil, and Qārī. He gained practical experience as a community leader through an Islamic center established in Baltimore, Maryland. There, he provided opportunities for students of all ages and backgrounds to learn about Islām. Shaykh Abdul Samad continues to dedicate himself to serving the faith by traveling and delivering lectures across the country, addressing the needs of Muslims in various communities.

Shaykh Abdul Samad has been granted Ijāzah (authorization) in Ḥadīth by the preeminent Ḥadīth expert of this era, Muḥaddith al-Kabīr. Additionally, he was bestowed Khilāfah by the grand Muftī of India, Muftī ʿAsjad Raḍā Khān al-Qādrī. Recognising his leadership and expertise, the scholars and public of Maryland appointed him as the Chief Qāḍī of the state, entrusting him with guiding the community on important issues such as moon sighting, marriage, divorce, and more.

To further his mission of serving Islām, Shaykh Abd al-Samad founded the Muslim Dreamers organisation, working alongside a dedicated team to address the needs of the Muslim community. Through this platform, he engages in various academic endeavors, including writing books, developing research articles, and teaching courses. His goal is to educate and inspire others with the transformative light of Islām.
