Mufti Akhtar Hussain Alīmi
Birth and Early Life
Mufti Akhtar Hussain al-Qādirī Alimī was born on March 1, 1972, in the Budhani locality of Khalilabad, now known as Sant Kabir Nagar, in Uttar Pradesh, India. From a young age, he exhibited a profound inclination towards Islamic studies, setting the foundation for his future contributions to Islamic scholarship.
Education
Mufti Akhtar Hussain commenced his formal education at Madrasa Misbah-ul-Uloom in his hometown. He furthered his studies at Madrasa Sattaria Muin-ul-Islam in Loharsen Bazaar under the tutelage of Maulana Abdul Khaliq. His quest for knowledge led him to Madrasa Haq-ul-Islam in Lalganj, District Basti. In 1983, he enrolled at Al-Jamiatul Islamia in Ronahee, where he dedicated six years to intensive studies under esteemed scholars, solidifying his expertise in various Islamic sciences.
Spiritual Lineage and Leadership
Mufti Akhtar Hussain is recognised as the spiritual successor of Huzoor Tāj al-Shariah Muhammad Akhtar Raza Khan al-Qādirī al-Azhari, a prominent Islamic scholar and former Grand Mufti of India. He has received spiritual authorization (Khilāfat) from notable scholars, including Mufti Jalaluddin Ahmed Amjadi and Mufti Zia-ul-Mustafa Qadri Amjadi, further establishing his esteemed position within the Islamic scholarly community.
