Mufti Muḥammad Afzal al-Qādirī, developed a keen interest in Islamic studies during his early teens. Witnessing a lack of understanding about Islām within his community, he felt compelled to deepen his knowledge and share it with others. This commitment led him to study the foundational sciences of Islām, under local scholars of his hometown of Blackburn. Quickly becoming a source of guidance for those around him. He began delivering lectures and initiating programs to inspire others towards religious practice.
Pursuit of Knowledge
To further his understanding and effectively serve diverse communities, Mufti Afzal pursued formal Islamic education. He traveled to Ghosi, India, enrolling at Jāmiʿah Amjadīyah, where he studied under esteemed scholars. Recognising the importance of specialisation, he undertook advanced studies in Islamic jurisprudence (Iftā) under the guidance of Ḥuzoor Muḥaddith-e-Kabīr, refining his skills in issuing legal verdicts and comprehending intricate juristic matters.
Teaching and Community Engagement
After completing his studies, Mufti Afzal earned the titles of ʿĀlim and Fāḍil and Muftī. For the past decade, he has been actively teaching, mentoring over 200 students across various cities and towns. His teaching repertoire includes pivotal Islamic texts such as:
Hidāyah (a seminal work in Ḥanafī jurisprudence)
Sirājī fil Mīrāth (a foundational text on Islamic inheritance law)
Jāmiʿ al-Tirmidhī (one of the six major collections of ḥadīth)
Duroos al-Balāgah (a primer in the science of Arabic Rhetoric) 
Tafsīr al-Bayḍāwī (a classical Qur'anic exegesis)
Tafsīr al-Qurṭubī (a comprehensive commentary on the Qur'an)
Mirqāt fil Manṭiq (a foundational text in logic)
Tafsīr al-Jalālayn (a well-known Qur'anic commentary)
In addition to traditional classroom settings, Mufti Afzal leverages online platforms to deliver lectures and lessons, extending his reach to a global audience and ensuring that seekers of knowledge have access to authentic Islamic teachings.
