Sayyid Owais Mustafa Wasti, reverently known as Makhdoom-e-Millat, was born in December 1967 (1st Shabaan 1385 Hijri) in Bilgram Sharif, Hardoi district, Uttar Pradesh, India. He hails from the esteemed Wasti family, renowned for their deep-rooted Islamic scholarship and spiritual heritage. His father, Hazrat Maulana Hafiz Qari Syed Shahid Husain Wasti, and his uncle, Qutb-e-Bilgram Hazrat Allama Mufti Syed Zainul 'Ābidiīn al-Wāstī, were prominent Islamic scholars, providing a nurturing environment for his early spiritual and educational development.

From a tender age, Sayyid Owais exhibited a profound inclination towards spirituality and learning. At just six months old, he began walking, and by the age of four years, four months, and four days, he commenced his formal education with the recitation of Bismillah Sharif. He memorized the Holy Qur'an under the tutelage of Hafiz Salamatullah Bilgrami and Hafiz Wali Muhammad Ansari Masaulawi, completing his Hifz in 1984. Pursuing higher Islamic studies, he enrolled in esteemed institutions such as Darul Uloom Manzar-e-Haq in Tanda, Madrasa Madina-tul-Arabiya in Dostpur, and Jamia Arabia Izhar-ul-Uloom in Jahangir Ganj, where he completed his Dars-e-Nizami curriculum.

As the Sajjada Nashin (spiritual successor) of the Khanqah-e-Sughrawiya in Bilgram Sharif, Sayyid Owais Mustafa Wasti upholds the rich legacy of the Qadri and Chishti Sufi orders. His spiritual lineage traces back to Huzoor Fateh Bilgram, his 19th great-grandfather, a testament to his deep-rooted connection to Islamic mysticism. He is also the founder of Darul Uloom Dawatus Sughra and the Syed Muhammad Sughra Wasti Trust, institutions dedicated to Islamic education and social welfare.

Throughout his life, Sayyid Owais Mustafa Wasti has been instrumental in reforming and guiding the Muslim community. His efforts encompass spiritual healing, educational initiatives, and the organization of religious events, such as the Juloos-e-Muhammadi in Bilgram Sharif and Hardoi. His teachings emphasize adherence to the Sunnah, love for the Ahl al-Bayt (family of the Prophet), and the importance of unity among Muslims.
